I don’t want to waste your time with jargon, so I’ll try to keep this short and concise.
IMHO, the simulation hypothesis is fundamentally inconsistent, logically nonsensical, and, quite frankly, silly.
First of All: The Name is Wrong!
To start, let’s see what Simulation actually means:
A simulation is an imitative representation of a process or system that could exist in the real world. (ref)
That by itself should be enough to demonstrate how inconsistent ( and dumb ) the idea of our reality being a simulation is, because a simulation is an imitation of something else, such as another reality in our case, it’s “simulating” ( or otherwise said, copying ) something else, it is NOT nessescirily a world created by code, it’s not a software program, it’s not a digital world, it’s not what people mean when they say “simulation”. simulation has a meaning, and it means to COPY something else existing.
What people mean ( when they say we live in a simulation ) is that the universe seem to be running on a set of code, laws…
